STORM LAKE, Iowa - Rescue crews used night vision, thermal imaging and a drone to try and locate a car that reportedly went through the ice Sunday evening in Storm Lake.
Buena Vista Sheriff's Dispatch got a call at 5:40 p.m. reporting a car went through the ice, and Storm Lake Police and Firefighters were able to locate the vehicle after 6:00 p.m.
They found a man and three children about a half-mile out from shore, and brought them to waiting ambulances.
The Buena Vista Sheriff's Department confirms the man and one child, his son died, the two other children, the man's young daughters were flown to a hospital in Sioux City, South Dakota.
