DES MOINES, Iowa - State lawmakers agreed to double funding for Iowa's K-through-12 schools on Monday.
Iowa schools had received increases of 1.1 percent, or lower, over the last two years.
The proposed two-point-one percent increase creates $78.6 million in new money.
According to WHO Channel 13, the $78.6 million increase is lower than the $89.5 million Gov. Kim Reynolds proposed a month ago in her Condition of the State address.
