Iowa Harley Davidson shop cleaned out by robbers

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A motorcycle shop in eastern Iowa has been cleaned out after robbers took almost everything including 16 Harley Davidson motorcycles, mopeds and ATVs, and the titles.

"We're out of business." Chuck Hanson tells KCRG-TV 9. "There's nothing we can do. You can't sell a car without a title."

Hanson is owner of A-1 Power Sports in Cedar Rapids. He says he believes it was a whole gang of robbers who knew what they were doing.

"Whoever did it knows our operation, probably knows me personally." He says. "They knew exactly where they were going."

Hanson says they also stole the security system and DVD recorder so there's no surveillance video for police. They destroyed his computers so he cannot access his inventory records.

Besides the bikes, Hanson says the robbers also stole leather motorcycle jackets, helmets, and other accessories, leaving the walls of the store bare.

He estimates the total value of everything stolen is over $200-thousand dollars.
