Flooding, high winds, thunderstorms, rain coming to Iowa MAPS

DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowa will feel the effects of a Bomb Cyclone moving up from Texas into the Central United States today.

Blizzard and Winter Storm Warnings are posted west of Iowa, for Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Severe storms and tornadoes are possible in the Southern United States. 78 mile an hour winds were measured in Dallas, Texas in these storms Wednesday morning.

Iowa will see strong winds, heavy rain, thunderstorms, flooding, and ice jams. 45 mile an hour winds are likely in Central and Southern Iowa today, 35 mile an hour winds in Eastern, Northern, and Western Iowa. The high winds continue into Thursday afternoon with Northwest Iowa likely to get up to 60 mile an hour winds. See the National Weather Service Iowa wind map above.
