Handmade Sign Warns Drivers Of Speed Trap

The Des Moines Police Department warns drivers of the locations where speed is being monitored on social media. They'd rather folks slow down than an officer issuing them a ticket.

Other law enforcement agencies aren't so neighborly. That's where THIS good neighbor stepped in.

A handmade sign is being credited with saving some Florida drivers from getting speeding tickets.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office was conducting a speed enforcement operation in the Golden State Estates neighborhood after reports of frequent speeding in the area.

After time passed, they were unable to identify only one speeding violation during the effort last week. They later found a plywood sign that warns of "police ahead" leaned against the nearest speed limit sign pole.

The Sheriff’s office took it in stride posting the photo on social media and noting, “Well played, Anonymous Sign Artist,” “Well played.”

At least the office had a sense of humor about it! And if folks slowed down - well, mission accomplished!
