DES MOINES, Iowa-- A Texas man faces charges in a wrong way crash in Des Moines that sent several people to the hospital early Saturday morning. Police say they got a call of a severe accident involving three vehicles on East 14th St. north of Maury St. at about 1:15 a.m. Police say Christopher Slaughter, 36, of Stephenville, Texas was driving his truck southbound in the northbound lanes when the crash occurred. Four people were injured, with two of them seriously. Slaughter is charged of driving while intoxicated, driving on the wrong side of the road and two counts of serious injury by vehicle.
