UNDATED-- U.S. News and World Reports says Iowa tops it's list of most affordable places to live. The state was first overall with the cheapest housing prices and 13th lowest cost of living. The listing factors in the cost of daily life and housing against the money households have available. Iowa was followed by Ohio, Indiana, Oklahoma and Michigan in the top five. Nebraska was sixth overall with the fifth lowest housing costs and a cost of living index ranked 21st. The five most expensive states were Hawaii, California, New York, Oregon, and Massachusetts.
