Prank Calls Prompt City Warning

We're ALL familiar with Bart Simpson's crank calls to Moe.

Moe: Moe's Tavern.

Bart: Is Mr. Freely there?

Moe: Who?

Bart: Freely, first initials I. P.

Moe: Hold on, I'll check. Uh, is I. P. Freely here? Hey, everybody! I. P. Freely![the customers laugh]Wait a minute... Listen to me, you lousy bum. When I get a hold of you, you're dead. I swear I'm gonna slice your heart in half!

Homer: You'll get that punk someday, Moe.

Moe: I don't know. He's tough to catch. He keeps changing his name.

But did Springfield ever issue a warning due to Bart's mischief?

Someone is out to drive the residents of Kitsap County, Washington crazy. And they’re doing a good job.

Last Thursday people started calling the Public Works Department to ask some odd questions like, “is someone digging a six foot hole in my yard?,” “Will a truck be parked in front of my business for two weeks to fix a pothole?,” “Is my street name being changed to Cannabis Way?”

That’s when everyone figured out that someone has been calling residents and making it look like the area Chamber of Commerce. The prankster has been telling residents all kinds of outlandish things, including telling them a cell tower is going up in their yard.

The county is reminding residents to hang up on the calls, which actually happened before. NOW the chamber is opting to work with the phone company on the problem.
