Body found in burning vehicle after stabbing in Waterloo

DES MOINES, Iowa - Waterloo police think a body found in a burning car may be connected to a stabbing early Friday morning.

The stabbing victim was a woman who was taken to MercyOne Medical Center and she is expected to survive her injuries.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports police were called to a burning car not long after and they found the body of a man inside the car.

Investigators think the car was still moving when it caught fire before it crashed into a pole.

Police say the burnt car matched the description of one seen in the same area as the stabbing.
