DES MOINES, Iowa - Rules that would govern sports betting in Iowa will be the subject of a hearing next month.
The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission will meet July 11 in Altoona, just outside Des Moines, and that is when the rules could be presented to the commission.
A follow-up meeting is expected July 30 to approve the new rules and regulations.
According to KCRG-TV 9, the commission would like to get regulations finalized before football season begins in the fall. The commission is looking at how some other states handle issues like underage gambling, gaming controls and what kinds of bets should be allowed.
