DES MOINES, Iowa - After a long stretch of cooler summer weather, it's about to turn hot again in Iowa.
We'll have temperatures in the upper 80s and into the 90s this week, along with high humidity. That'll make it hot and sticky.
Tuesday looks like the hottest day of the week, with heat indexes in Des Moines and most of southern Iowa in the low 100s.
It'll be a brief heatwave, though, after storms Tuesday night into Wednesday morning high temperatures will drop back down into the low 80 range.
