The Monument Walk - fundraiser to refurbish the Capitol Monuments

Chris Burch of the IMT Des Moines Marathon joined Van and Bonnie in the WHO Radio studio to talk about the Monument Mile, a one mile run/walk to raise funds to refurbish the monuments on the grounds of the State Capitol. There are 40 monuments and for every $2.00 raised from the private sector, $1.00 will be matched. The run/walk begins at the Capitol complex and ends at Cowles Commons with food and drink. It's a family-friendly event...strollers are welcome. Park your car downtown and ride the free DART bus to the start.
