No, Red Meat ISN'T Bad For You

I think that the problem with studies is that they can often come to different conclusions. So I choose to believe the studies that tell me that what I already do is just fine. Like this new study that says red meat won't hurt me.

A new set of recommendations by experts from seven countries says people don't need to curb their intake of red meat and processed meats like bacon, sausage or ham. The group nutriRECS, which published its findings in the Annals of Internal Medicine, says its review of previous research shows the damage done by meat, like heart disease, diabetes and cancer is minimal. Co-author Dr. Gordon Guyatt stresses it’s okay to say "Thanks very much, but I'm going to keep eating my meat."

The findings contradict a 2015 determination by the International Agency for Research on Cancer that classified red meat as "probably carcinogenic to humans." Organizations like the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association and Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine have criticized nutriRECS's recommendations.

The study says this isn’t a pass to overindulge. Everything in moderation!

Hunh. I think I sense a theme is ALL these studies. MODERATION!!!!
