HERE'S How Much Food A Cruise Ship Stocks

I love to travel and you've probably heard me praise cruises. You unpack ONCE yet get to visit different places. And, of course, there's an unending supply of food. Ever wonder how much a cruise ship has to stock for a trip?

New research reveals the amount of food the ships stock for a week-long trip and it’s pretty unbelievable.

Travel insurance provider Admiral checked out the total amount of food and beverages consumed in a typical seven-day Caribbean cruise and found that the ships carry just over 110-U.S. tons of food and drinks. Alcohol is a big part of that and the study finds that about 16,862-liters of booze is on board - enough to fill 169 bathtubs! The amount of coffee on the ships is impressive, too - it’s enough to make nearly 120,000 cups every morning.

The ships also stock these essentials for a week-long getaway:

  • 21,000 ice cream cones
  • 66,550 pastries
  • 10,650 hot dogs
  • 7,100 burgers
