Spider-Man WILL Remain Part Of The MCU

I had previously talked on the show about the fact that Disney-Marvel and Sony were in a standoff over the rights to “Spider-Man” that reached a breaking point. Back in August, chances that the two would team up on a third movie were said to be “100 percent dead”... but apparently, not anymore.

Fans worried about “Spider-Man’s” future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe reportedly have the movie’s star to thank, Tom Holland. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor was able to convince honchos at Disney and Sony pictures to work things out after “multiple appeals.”

So, Marvel will be producing a third “Spider-Man” movie after all, to hit theaters in July 2021. As for the dispute over profits, Disney has accepted a little less than the 50-50 deal the studio was apparently insisting on – the studio will reportedly chip in 25-percent of the budget for the upcoming installment, and get 25-percent of the net gross in return.

I am glad to hear it. A Spider-Man movie without Nick Fury or cameo appearances by other Marvel heroes? Unthinkable! BTW, Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man of all time!
