Check That Car Engine...A Squirrel May Be Storing Nuts

It's forecast to get very cold in Iowa this weekend...and squirrels will go into "overdrive" to store up nuts for the winter. Which means you should check your car's engine. No, really.

Holly Persic was starting her car and noticed the smell of something burning and a strange noise. She immediately turned off the engine and lifted the hood. The problem was obvious. A squirrel had packed the engine compartment full of grass and walnuts. Hundreds of walnuts…. in every nook and cranny of that engine compartment.

That explained a lot. Holly previously noticed the walnuts that usually fell from their tree were gone. The woman shared on Facebook, "Long story short, if you park outside, do yourself a favor and check under the hood every once in awhile."
