DES MOINES, Iowa -- Des Moines Police say a couple was attacked Saturday night in the city's Skywalk by a group of juveniles.
Sgt. Paul Parizek says it happened in the Skywalk at 5th St. and Grand Ave. just before 9:00 p.m.
"Some of the kids were goofing off, horsing around when the female simply asked if everything was O.K. For some reason, that seemed to agitate them. They became very agitated with the two victims, started yelling and screaming at them. Ultimately, some of them began to physically assault the male.
Parizek says witness told officers at the scene that the group pinned the 21-year-old male to the glass and kicked him, and also punched the 19-year-old female.
He says the male was taken to a hospital.
Parizek says investigators are looking at video from a passing DART bus and businesses near the attack.
While several people were detained after the attack, no charges have been filed as yet.
