Though men only account for about one percent or less of all breast cancer diagnoses in the U.S., a study revealed male breast cancer patients have a 19% higher mortality rate than their diagnosed female counterparts, and researchers are not yet aware of what is causing the disparity. This is not just an disease for women, and as we close out October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, physicians are encouraging men to take a closer look at this risk.
