A second wave of snow is expected this week from Nebraska, through Iowa, and into Illinois and Wisconsin Wednesday into Thursday. For some areas, including Omaha, Nebraska the National Weather Service has posted a Winter Weather Advisory. The snow will start early Wednesday and late into Wednesday night. 1-3 inches of snow is expected with the heaviest snow in Southern Nebraska and Southeastern Iowa. 10-20 mph winds could cause blowing snow and reduced visibility. In Iowa, the heaviest snow is expected in the Eastern and Southeastern part of the state, with Des Moines getting less than an inche, Osceola 2 inches, and a line from Ottumwa through Cedar Rapids and Iowa City to Dubuque of 1 to 2 inches of snow. Heaviest snow is expected in the Davenport and Quad Cities area, at 3 inches.
North of Des Moines, Ames and Waterloo should see zero to less than an inch of new snow.
