DES MOINES, Iowa - Milder temperatures on Saturday, the last day of November brought thunder, lightning, drizzle and heavy rain at times, and then a surprise. Tornado Warnings.
Just after 4:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon an Iowa State Patrol Trooper spotted a rope tornado near Panora, west of Des Moines. The National Weather Service had already issued a weather statement saying conditions in the Central Iowa region were favorable for funnel clouds and weak tornadoes through the afternoon.
A Tornado Warning was issued for Guthrie County, and another for Dallas County based on radar indicated rotation.
