Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is warning of a very tight deadline to hammer out a deal on a critical trade agreement.
Grassley took to the Senate floor Monday to say he doesn't think the USMCA can be ratified this year if a deal isn't struck this week.
"This modernized trade agreement will create hundreds of thousands of new jobs and help Americans grow wages for our workers," Grassley said.
Grassley called on Democrats to take up the agreement. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi released a statement just over a week ago saying a better agreement was within reach.
