Jefferson man accused of breaking child's leg

JEFFERSON, Iowa - A Jefferson man is charged after being accused of assaulting his girlfriend's son.

28-year old Daniel Tasler was arrested on yesterday (Tuesday) and charged with felony Child Endangerment.

A complaint says Tasler was 'punishing' the four-year-old for hitting another child when he "spun him around" and threw him onto a couch.

He's then accused of trying to block the boy's mother from taking the child to the hospital and threatening to kill everyone in the home, including himself.

The boy was diagnosed with a spiral fracture of his femur, or a broken leg.

WHO-TV reports Tasler posted bond after his arrest. He is due back in court again next week.

His charge is a Class C felony with a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
