DES MOINES, Iowa -- A Des Moines teen who's been missing since last week may have chosen to disappear.
Des Moines Police say they now have evidence that indicates 18-year-old Abdullahi Sharrif's absence may have voluntary. They say that does not ease their concerns about his welfare.
Sharrif was last seen Friday at the Target store at Merle Hay Mall.
Police said at the time that no one has been able to reach him on his cell phone, and the only people he calls are family members.
Abdullahi Sharrif is 5'4" and weighs 120 pounds. Police say he was last seen wearing a dark-colored winter coat, khaki-colored pants, and tennis shoes
Anyone who knows where Sharrif is should call police.
