DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Judicial Branch has new, free interactive court forms to help people navigate the state court system without an attorney.

Those seeking a divorce who don't have children (minor of adult dependent children) can now use the service.

It's an online program that prepares court forms at no cost based on the user’s answers to easy step-by-step questions. The questionnaire at the Iowa Judicial Branch website helps people gather and prepare documents needed for a divorce that does not involve children.

The questionnaire can be completed on a computer or smartphone. The user can then print, sign, and file the forms with the court.

State Court Administrator Todd Nuccio says the new program should help streamline the legal process for Iowa residents. “These new interactive online forms are a part of our continuing efforts to make justice more convenient and accessible to the citizens of Iowa," said Nuccio.  "We foresee the intuitive design and user-friendly nature of the questionnaires to be well received."
