COLFAX, Iowa — A man involved in a five-hour standoff over the weekend in Colfax, east of Des Moines on I-80, has been charged.
55-year-old Paul Deaton is accused of Domestic Assault, Harassment and Interference with Official Acts.
He was seen by a judge and his bond is set at $2000.
The Jasper County Sheriff's Office and Iowa State Patrol established a perimeter after being called for a domestic situation and Deaton refused to come out of the house. The TASER was also used in his arrest. The standoff ended shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday
Deaton was taken to an ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation, released and placed in the Jasper County Jail.
