Iowa Woman Arrested In Large Meth Bust In Arizona

An Iowa woman and a Peoria, Illinois man has been arrested after Arizona authorities found more than 360 pounds of meth in their vehicle.

Officials with the Arizona Department of Public Safety say the arrests were made during a traffic stop last Friday. The estimated street value of the meth is about $4 million, the largest single meth seizure in Arizona DPS history.

Officials with the DPS said during the traffic stop a 'cause was developed' and a search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding the 362 pounds of meth.

DPS officials say 52 year old Julie Mason of Burlington, Iowa and her husband, 38 year old Maurius Mason of Peoria, Illinois were arrested for possession of a dangerous drug and transportation of a dangerous drug.

Both were booked into Mesquite, Nevada Police Detention.
