DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Senate has approved $20 million more in the current fiscal year on flood relief projects.
Iowa Emergency Management says there's nearly $200 million worth of flood projects awaiting funding, but that federal money will cover some if not most of the expenses.
Democrats says the $20 million is not enough for areas hit by flooding last year.
The full Senate approved the addition money Thursday, marking the first bill the upper chamber has passed in the 2020 legislative session.
