Iowa Student Caught Vaping In Class Arrested For Having A Gun

A 15 year old student at Davenport West High School is facing felony charges after school officials say a gun was found in the student's backpack.

Principal Cory Williams told parents Tuesday that the student was removed from class for vaping and, following district procedure, security then searched the student's locker and found the gun.

The Davenport Police Department confirms that the student did not threaten any students or staff.

The teen as been charged with carrying weapons on school grounds, which is a class-D felony.
