Number of Iowans being monitored for coronavirus increases

Abstarct virus strain model of MERS-Cov and Novel coronavirus

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The number of people being monitored for coronavirus is up.

The Iowa Department of Public Health's new numbers out Wednesday show 10 people are now being watched for cornonavirus. The department's last report on February 29th had five people being monitored.

Public Heath also says seven people have now tested negative for coronavirus. Results are pending on one test.

The new numbers come just a day after the department said it wants people who've recently traveled to China, Hong Koing, Italy, Iran, Japan, and South Korea--all hit hard by coronavirus-- to self-quarantine for 14 days.
