DES MOINES, Iowa - The National Weather Service is Warning of strong winds during the day Wednesday.
A red flag fire warning will be in effect for almost the entire state below I-80 today.
Almost the entire rest of the state, including Des Moines, is under a wind advisory. The advisory doesn't include far eastern and northeastern Iowa, including Dubuque.
The warning and advisory re in effect from 9 am until 6 pm.
There'll be some wind gusts up to 55 miles an hour.Strong winds may cause fires to develop and spread rapidly, especially across southern Iowa.
