OMAHA, Nebraska - A 36 year old woman has tested positive for coronavirus in Nebraska.
6 News reports health officials say the woman had been dealing with a respiratory infection for twelve days. On Thursday she felt much worse and went to the emergency room at Methodist Hospital in Omaha for treatment. Methodist Hospital officials realized what was happening and took the proper containment action.
The woman was then transferred to the biocontainment unit at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her current condition is described as seriously ill.
The woman had recently traveled to the United Kingdom. UNMC's health team now is trying to figure out who she may have been in contact with and possibly exposed.
