Gov. Reynolds Issues Declaration Easing Some Regulations

DES MOINES, Iowa - Governor Kim Reynolds has issued another Emergency Declaration this morning to loosen certain regulations during Covid-19/coronavirus outbreak.

The declaration temporarily suspends collection of property taxes, and penalties and interest.

It suspends some evictions, and some regulations to ease the transportation of agricultural supplies, food, medical supplies, cleaning products, and household goods on all highways in Iowa.

The Declaration allows for public meetings or hearings by electronic means to improve the functions of government while maintaining social distancing practices

It allows bars and restaurants to sell alcohol for carry-out, delivery and drive-thru for unopened bottles.

The declaration also extends the expiration deadline for a permit to carry and a permit to acquire a firearm.

Governor Reynolds will hold a press conference today at 2 p.m.
