DES MOINES, Iowa - A man suspected in a hit-and-run that resulted in a woman's death has been brought back to Iowa.
Forty-one-year-old Isaias Flores Morales is in the Polk County Jail on a $500,000 cash only bond after being extradited from Illinois. He was arrested in Zion, Illinois in late February.
Flores Morales is accused of hitting 71-year-old Stephanie Markert on January 30th in the intersection of 33rd and Forest in Des Moines. Market died of her injuries days later. She was a house director for a sorority at Drake University.
A criminal complaint says Flores Morales later threatened to kill a woman if she told police his whereabouts.
He faces five charges, including Leaving The Scene of a Death Accident and 1st Degree Harassment.
