AMES, Iowa - Iowa's three state run universities have established emergency funds for students who affected by the COVID-19 virus.
Iowa State University, the University of Iowa, and the University of Northern Iowa launched the funds to help students who are adjusting to the change from living and learning on campus to online instruction.
The universities are inviting alumni, fans, and friends interested in supporting students to one or more of the funds, which will help students with costs for housing, food, travel and technology for online learning.
The schools made the move to virtual instruction after recommendations from the Board of Regents. The universities are restricting residency on campuses in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
