DES MOINES, Iowa - Des Moines Police have identified people involved in a fatal accident Tuesday afternoon.
Officers say 56 year old Charla Harker was a passenger in a minivan being driven by her husband, 45 year old Matthew Harker.
Charla died at a hospital while Matthew is still hospitalized with serious injuries.
Police their mini-van ran a stop light on McKinley Ave. and entered an intersection, The mini-van was hit by two vehicles headed northbound on SW 9th Street, a Hyundai Sonata driven by 35 year old Jeremy Young and a Jeep driven by 25 year old Jessica Priddy.
Young and Priddy were not injured.
Officers say failure to obey a stop light appears to be the major contributing factor to this crash. impaired or distracted driving have not yet been ruled out.
No charges have been filed.
The Des Moines Police Department Traffic Unit continues to investigate the crash.
