Ames playgrounds closed due to coronavirus concerns

AMES, Iowa -- Playgrounds in Ames parks and schools are being closed.

The City of Ames and the Ames Community School District are working together to close the playgrounds to limit the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The City says signs will be installed, but there will be no tape or fencing surrounding the playgrounds.

City parks and trails will stay open, but park restrooms are closed and water fountains are turned off.

The city says the Ames Dog Park is also closed.
