SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The Iowa Army National Guard has established an operation dedicated to responding to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Guard has opened the ’Joint Task Force West at the Iowa Air National Guard facility in Sioux City.
The operations is intended to offer planning, logistics and coordination support to COVID-19 response efforts in western Iowa
Similar Iowa National Guard operations centers are currently active in Johnston and Iowa City.
The Iowa National Guard is working with the Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management to distribute medical personal protective equipment across the state.
