DES MOINES, Iowa - A police chase ends with a motorcyclist crashing into the back of a Jeep on I-80 east of Des Moines.
Iowa State Patrol dispatch audio follows the cyclist from the Altoona area east to Mitchellville, then heading back towards Des Moines when the biker crashes. ISP reports the motorcycle hit the Jeep Wrangler from behind, and the Jeep then crashed into a Chevrolet 1500 pickup. The trooper reports the motorcyclist laying on the ground and calls for emergency medical crews and a life flight helicopter.
21-year-old Aaron Bjork of Des Moines died before he could be taken to a hospital.
50-year-old Holly Gutterson of Colfax, Iowa, was driving the Jeep. 27-year-old Levi Daniels of Colfax was driving the pickup. Neither of them is reported hurt.
The State Patrol reports the motorcycle did not have a license plate.
