DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Des Moines School District is canceling a number of spring activities during the COIVD-19 outbreak.
The district says the spring sports season, proms, performing arts productions, and traditional graduation ceremonies are being called-off.
The district says it's exploring alternative ways to honor the 2020 graduation class, and will re-evaluate on June 1st to decide when, or if, to resume practices and competition for summer sports like baseball and softball.
Thursday's announcement comes just a day after the district said it was going to on-line learning for the rest of the school year.
