DES MOINES, Iowa - The Polk County Sheriff's Office is warning the public about COVID-19 scams.
Sheriff Kevin Schneider has made a video public service announcement telling residents about scams reported to his office.
He says the scams include non-existent COVID-19 cures, phony protective equipment sales, stimulus check help and threats to cut-off utility or bank service.
Schneider says anybody who has received any phone call that may be a scam contact the Polk County Sheriff's Office at 515-286-3333. He said the county, including its first responders, is doing everything they can to keep the public safe. Check out the Sheriff Schneider's public service announcement below.
