ALTOONA, Iowa - Adventureland Park says it plans to open up for its 2020 season in June. The park says the latest update on COVID-19 guidelines forced it to delay its operations. The park says it'll adjust its schedule as new guidelines are issued by the State and Iowa Department of Public Health. A proclamation issued by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds Monday keeps amusement parks closed until May 15th.
Adventureland Park season pass holders who purchased them before May 1st will be given a prorated rebate for each day missed during the park's shut down. People can reach out to the park directly for any other ticket inquiries.
In a statement on its Facebook page, the park said, "Opening Day IS coming - and we are so excited to welcome your families for a fun filled day at Adventureland soon!"
