DES MOINES, Iowa - COVID-19/coronavirus outbreaks are now reported at 23 Iowa long term care centers, including seven additional centers in the most recent report.
The outbreaks account for 94 of the new positive COVID-19 cases. Seven of the nine new deaths in the latest report were long term care residents.
Governor Kim Reynolds say long term care strike teams will conduct surveillance testing of employees at the centers in the coming days.
The seven long tern care centers where new outbreaks are reported include: Granger Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dubuque Specialty Care, Accura Healthcare of Newton-West, Park Centre (Newton), Iowa Veterans Home (Marshalltown), Fleur Heights Center for Wellness and Rehab (Des Moines), University Park Nursing and Rehabilitation (Des Moines).
Six long term care centers in Polk County now have COVID-19 outbreaks, the most in the state.
