A Mahaska County woman was arrested on Wednesday and charged with 1st degree murder.
Police were called to a possible homicide in rural Mahaska County on Wednesday morning. A few hours later, police discovered a body in a house in rural New Sharon. The victim's identity has not been released.
An investigation resulted in the arrest of 69-year old Carole Ann Davis of New Sharon. She's been booked into the Mahaska County Jail, and will appear in court on Thursday.
The investigation into this homicide is still ongoing.
