Iowa has 12 more COVID-19 coronavirus deaths, nearly 400 new cases

DES MOINES, Iowa -- There are nearly 400 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus in Iowa.

The Iowa Department of Public Health reported Friday that 397 more people have tested positive, pushing the state's total to 11,457.

The state also says the virus has killed 12 more people, bringing Iowa's death toll to 243.

Public Health says 4,685 people who tested positive for the virus have recovered--a recovery rate of nearly 41 percent

The department says 34 people were admitted to hospitals with COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. There are now 407 people in Iowa who are hospitalized with the virus.

So far, 70,261 people in Iowa have been tested for the virus.
