FORT DODGE, Iowa - A Fort Dodge man faces numerous charges after being accused of forcing his way into a woman’s home, threatening her with a knife and kidnapping her.
Fort Dodge Police say 33-year-old Leon Drayton entered a residence in the 300 block of Avenue M West Saturday morning, where they say he assaulted her, threatened her with a knife and then forced her into a car.
Officers say he then drove away and was pulled over by a Webster County Sheriff’s deputy within 15 minutes.
Drayton was arrested and the woman was taken to a hospital, where she was treated for injuries and released. An eight-year-old who was also in the car was not injured.
Drayton is charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree kidnapping, willful injury, domestic assault, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, child endangerment.
