Iowa Has 287 New Cases of COVID-19, 13 Additional Deaths

DES MOINES, Iowa - The state has 13 more deaths from COVID-19/coronavirus as of Sunday for a total of 265 since the pandemic set in.

The Iowa Department of Public Health reports 287 new cases of COVID-19, a slight uptick from 214 reported Saturday. There are a total of 1,959 cases, and 5,154 recoveries.

The state reports that it tested 2,698 people in the latest 24-hour cycle, a figure much closer to Governor Kim Reynolds goal of 3,000 tests per day with the implementation of the Test Iowa program. Only 1,215 new tests were reported Saturday.

The health department says 1-in-41 Iowans have been tested for COVID-19, and 1-in-260 people have tested positive.
