Source: Iowa Gov Considering Self Isolation After Pence Aide Contact

DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is reported to be considering self isolation after coming in contact with an aide to Vice President Mike Pence who tested positive for COVID-19.

Bloomberg News is reporting that Reynolds came in close contact with Pence press secretary Katie Miller, who tested positive for the virus.

Reynolds and Iowa state medical director Caitlin Pedati visited the White House last Wednesday for a meeting with President Trump. Bloomberg reports Pedati is already planning to self-isolate. Miller tested positive for COVID-19 Friday.

WHO Radio has not received confirmation from Reynolds office or Pedati of intentions to self isolate. Bloomberg reporter Jennifer Jacobs cited two unnamed sources for its reporting.

Pence was in Des Moines Friday and had close contact with Reynolds, as well as Iowa Republican Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst during an appearance at Hy-Vee headquarters.

A spokesperson for Ernst said,"Senator Ernst was tested before boarding Air Force Two and was negative, and followed all guidance from the Vice President’s office and medical team. She has not been advised to self-isolate and does not plan to at this time."

Bloomberg reports Pence has been self isolating over the weekend, but will be back at the White House Monday. CNN reports Pence has decided not to self-quarantine.
