LINN COUNTY, Iowa - The state Department of Natural Resources is investigating the death of a Corvalville man in a state park.
32-year-old Brian Jungen reportedly fell off a trail at Palisades-Kepler State Park. He was found by a group of four hikers along Cedar Cliff Trail. Jungen was able to speak when found, but blacked out soon after.
The hikers called 911. First responders from Mount Vernon and Lisbon responded to the scene, where they were joined by deputies from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and DNR park rangers. Emergency workers were not able to detect a pulse from Jungen and began immediate medical attention.
Jungen was pronounced dead on the scene.
