DES MOINES, Iowa - Des Moines Black Lives Matter is still trying to meet with Governor Kim Reynolds.
The group returned to the capitol Thursday and stationed itself outside Reynolds office, chanting and hoping for a meeting with the governor. The group says they thought a meeting had been arranged, but will keep working to make one happen.
Black Lives Matter wants to present its demands to Reynolds, which includes a justice reform bill, "Plan for More Perfect Union", that passed the state legislature unanimously Thursday.
The group has spearheaded numerous demonstrations and protests in Des Moines after the death of George Floyd while in the custody of Minneapolis Police on May 25th.
