DES MOINES, Iowa - A storm passing through Des Moines after midnight Monday morning brought power outages to thousands and damage to some trees and telephone poles.
Wind speeds reached 60 miles-per-hour and some trees and poles blocked a few roadways.
MidAmerican Energy confirmed that more than 5,000 people were without power at around 3 am.
The blocked roadways were cleared in time for Monday morning drive time. Additional cleanup was also underway.
